Renate Roske-Shelton » Foggy Morning in Campobello
Oil and Ink on Panel

This original painting was created on site, Plein Air, in Oil on panel, on Campobello Island. The fresh foggy June morning created the relative soft but cool colour temperatures so typical for that time of year. As the painting progressed the fog made the trees at end disappear totally at times, only to reveal them again minutes later. On that particular day the fog shifted from one side of the Island (looking toward Grand Manan) to the Lubec view side in the late afternoon creating overall ghostly vistas either entirely or partially obscured.
