A dark-time (winter skies) nocturne painting of a hobby shed with a pheasant under moonlight. The cabin/shed was painted from a friend’s photograph of his Astronomy Hobby Shed in New Brunswick. I was fascinated by the dark shadow pattern on the white snow in the surround. I wished to bring a bit more “resolution” to the scene and opted for a pheasant ambling through the property. While at this, I also extended the reach into the background a wee bit by showing a little more moonlight coming through the trees. Pheasants are quite common in these New Brunswick parts having been introduced from Europe ages ago as a game bird. I marvel at this beautiful bird, whenever I see them. Birds are such a wondrous gift of nature! The ringnecked pheasant, incidentally, according to Wikipedia, may be the most hunted game bird in the entire world. . “Pastoral Moonlight for Orion” by Renate (expl.
